Meet our Founder/Managing Partner
Thomas B. Woodard, MBA, is a senior healthcare executive, strategist, and academic leader with more than 25 years of experience driving growth, operational transformation, and physician enterprise development across complex health systems. He has built a distinguished career partnering with executive leadership teams to advance enterprise strategy, strengthen physician alignment, improve financial performance, and expand access to high-quality patient care in value-based environments.
Currently serving as Principal and Managing Partner of TBW Strategic Solutions, LLC, Woodard advises healthcare organizations on strategic transformation initiatives, including AI adoption, care model redesign, operational optimization, and sustainable growth strategies. He works closely with clinical and executive leaders to implement scalable solutions that enhance organizational performance and innovation readiness.
Prior to founding his consulting practice, Woodard spent 15 years with Atlantic Health System, where he served in multiple executive leadership roles, including Executive Director of Primary Care Partners and Director of Physician Enterprise. In these roles, he led a 100+ provider multispecialty group generating more than $50 million in annual revenue, expanded patient access by over 300,000 annual visits, improved operational efficiency by 25%, and significantly enhanced physician engagement and retention. He also played a key role in launching and managing one of the nation’s largest Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs), helping advance value-based care initiatives and cross-system collaboration.
In addition to his executive leadership experience, Woodard is an Adjunct Professor in the Master of Healthcare Administration program at Seton Hall University, where he teaches graduate courses in healthcare strategy, economics, finance, marketing, and operations. His academic work integrates practitioner executive leadership experience with healthcare management education and professional development.
Woodard holds an MBA from William Paterson University, a Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Administration from Seton Hall University, and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Healthcare Administration at Central Michigan University. He also recently completed Harvard Medical School’s “AI in Healthcare: Strategies to Implementation” certification program.
He is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and the Society for Healthcare Strategy & Market Development (SHSMD), and has contributed to published work on value-based care and population health management.
